WHAT ARE VODKA INFUSIONS?
People have been infusing vodkas throughout the “vodka belt” of Ukraine, Belarus, and Northern Europe for hundreds of years. Infused vodkas started as medicinal tonics, or ways to process and preserve fleeting ingredients, but have evolved into complex, balanced libations. Turns out that alcohol is the perfect vehicle to both preserve and amplify delicate flavors.
Making a good infusion is a serious task, deeply rooted in geography and tradition.
Our task has been to create a thoughtful infusion program that honors Slavic practice while also reflecting our geography and our traditions.
Kachka Spirits was born in Portland.
